In her previous life, Mavis was a journalist who spent a lot of time cooking for family and friends in her spare time, as well as writing her own food blog and canning jams and jellies. She attended St. Ursula Academy, graduating in 2002, and then graduated from Syracuse University in 2006. In 2010, Mavis decided to go to culinary school for catering and personal chef services at Kendall College in Chicago. She then launched The Delish Dish from her apartment in Northern Kentucky in 2012 . Mavis spent the first 6 years as the head chef of The Delish Dish before stepping back to manage the day-to-day sales, operations, and event production aspects of the company as well as act as Executive Chef. Mavis’ favorite part of her job is when all of the planning aspects coalesce on event day and she gets to watch guests enjoy the food and experience her team has worked so hard to put together.
